Any other "bloody foreigners" here? :)

Was just wondering..... have logged on to the "Global site", where, despite having to log on again everything was just the same (?) as the English site, if there were in fact any other people not from England on this site....and of course 'ex pats' like myself living abroad?

Dont be shy now..... Smile

There are a whole mess of Scots on this site - definitely not from England - and the odd Welsh type too!

How do you get on to the other international sites. I have tried to find the French one without success.

Kind regards,

Chas.

At the top right hand corner you can choose to change country and/or language. The only difference I noticed was there was no competitions tab on the site I went to, can't remember which one it was.

You're right, Peter. The Spanish site for example doesn't have a competition and you can't access Chat or IHC - and we have our own "spanish chat" (empty, apart from a long-ago thread from someone in the UK). Also, I've noticed that there are some blogs that appear on the spanish site (myfinepix.es) - (the usual one-photo type..!) that don't appear when you're in the UK site. Strange.

un saludo, ojo

I just changed to the Polish site and then went to change language and English and Polish were listed. Seems you have to change country first.

How do you get that greyed box to post into?

Now I understand that english is not english. But if you were in North America your comments would be seen as durogatory. It sounds like you are swearing at people.

It also sounds slightly racist.

Am I not understanding what you mean, or is this a very bad attempt at a joke?

I begin to wonder how many people are suffering from "sensayumafailure"? This seems particualrly prevalent in North America, but that's no excuse for it appearing here! How is English not English - whatever it is, it is not British! Catalonians can't decide if they are French or Spanish, but generally seem to like other Catalonians - Basques are similar in being neither French nor Spanish, but seem to dislike those from the other side of their borders - this makes no sense to me. We Scots are quite happy to co-exist with England, and run the place for them (check the cabinet!) - and in general we are all the same race (i.e.Caucasians) - so what is all this "racist" nonsense?

Paul - you have only yourself to blame when you stay away so long that no-one knows you, or that the last thing you are is racist. But George is right - a serious sensaumarfailure - it is contagious - much worse than swine flu but the bugs which cause it I believe have been frozen in the deeper wastes of Norway - so you may have escaped.

I don't mind the English living next door to me either.  However, to cut down on numbers entering, we do levy a small toll charge.

I think the biggest insult made was from a 'North American', asking, what part of England is Wales in.

Haha.  Good one Jen.

My lady brought her daughter over last september for her graduation treat.  Upon her return she did a talk to her class and had a questions session after.  In part, it went like this;

"Did you see London?"

"Yes.  We had two days there and saw all the sights"

"Where else did you go?"

"We had a tour all over England and saw lots of different places"

"So how far is England from London and what country is England in?"

One has to despair.  So Jen, based on this, could it be that England is in Wales and not the other way around?

Indeed it is.   What better neighbours could one ask for?  All beautiful countries that I have enjoyed many times in years past.

People tend to treat you as you treat them so that is why I have always found them to be friendly, no matter where in the world that has been.  Yes I CAN be friendly.  Shock I know.  Wink

I've just discovered something.  Websense has blocked me from accessing www.myfinepix.co.uk at work.  I've just gone in to the polish site (www.myfinepix.pl) and if I type 1590 after www.myfinepix.pl/forum/ I can access the UK IHC forum.

Can someone tell me what the number is at the end of UK Chat in the bar at the top?

Better out than in... better up than down!
